Buried Alive!

Sunday Donny and Amanda came out to our place to spend the day on the beach with us. The kids were building sand castles and playing in the waves when Donny and Kaden decided start digging a hole. The hole was so huge that Sage and Kaden could stand up straight in it. That is when they decided to get buried alive. I was surprised that they stood still long enough to get buried. Then Amanda turned Kaden in to a Crab and Sage into a mermaid.

Torin was so tired for all the excitement that he layed down to sleep while the others were getting buried...

After Torin got up from his nap , he was ready to buried also... He wasn't so sure about it at first...

When Amanda told him he was going to be a shark , he was a little more excited about being buried in the wet sand...

We stayed outside all day and then watched the sunset .. here are some random pictures of the evening:-)

I think Owen was sharing some Boogie board wisdom with Donny before he went out to ride the waves..

The nights here on the beach are some of my favorite times. It is so peaceful and relaxing to watch the sun set.. And we are very excited to be staying her another month!!! We decided to not head out west to AZ for the rest of our trip and stay another month here on Cocoa Beach since we love the beach life:-) So we will now be leaving in February to go back to Alabama so Owen can preach a three night bible conference at our friends church and then make our way to St. Louis MO to visit some more family....

A day out on the town

We have been traveling now for about 4 weeks. It has been a great time with the kids but when you are moving to different small hotel rooms all the "closeness" gets old really fast. Owen and I were about at our limit. We needed a break:-)Amanda so graciously said she would watch the kids on Friday so Owen and I could go out for a while.. We were soooo happy you would think it was our first date...haha... Downtown Disney market place was about 40 min away so we decided to head there to walk around. It is basically a strip of shops and restaurants to walk through.. They had so many fun stores! They had a huge Lego store where you could go in and build your own legos and pick out your own personal collection of Lego's. They had all the Disney stores , princess stores and candy stores you could imagine.. It was amazing to see all the different life size lego models they built and all the Disney characters along the sidewalks. It was a very fun place to go to experience the Disney feel with out paying the fee to get in the park.

They had life size Lego models all through the shopping area. They each were all made out of small Lego's.

Walking around downtown was nice and relaxing but we wanted to do something a little more adventurous:-) So we found a helicopter tour. It was so exciting!! They flew us over Orlando Sea world, wet n wild water park and some other Orlando attractions. I didn't realize how small the helicopter would be inside.. I got a little motion sickness when we took off but after you are up in air it was fine. I was in the front seat next to the pilot and Owen was right behind me . there were only three seats in the helicopter I think. Owen and I loved it so much , Owen is going to look into what it takes to get a pilot licence to fly those little helicopters....

After we went in the helicopter we decide to go to the theatre and watch a movie. The theatre there was amazing. It had a reclining seat with head rest .. it was the perfect way to a relaxing night.. We saw the movie Seven Pounds with Will Smith.. We thought it was a pretty good movie , kept you wondering what was going to happen through out the movie and those are always fun ones to see. I would bring a box of tissues though , it is a tear jerker:-)
I then called Amanda to see if she was still alive and how it was going .. all she said was " I am tired" hahaha... yep I think she now has a new appreciation for having kids.. The kids had an awesome time though . Donny and Amanda took them all to the park then to chick fillet to play on the indoor play ground.. All in all it was a wonderful relaxing day that Owen and I needed .. Here is a big THANK YOU Donny and Amanda!!!

Surfers

OK Owen is now determined that we are to become a family of surfers... We took out the boogie boards to give it a go on the waves today....It was a blast!! Owen and I had so much fun that we forgot the kids wanted to play with the boards..hahaha.... The waves got up to around 4 feet but the boogie boards are more for the smaller waves up by the beach area. Owen and I did take them out pretty far to the bigger waves but after I swallowed half of the ocean and saw jelly fish and shark fins( ok maybe that was my imagination) I was ready to move it in closer to the beach. ohhh If only I could just get over my fear of a pack of sharks licking their chops waiting for a piece of me.. dang it!!
For me to get out there deep in the ocean I have to really focus on the activity whether it be surfing or snorkeling.. but once I do that I love it! But since you can only do so much with a boogie board ... tomorrow Owen is going to get a surf lesson and then come teach me and we will be off to rent a surf board.... We met two older men that have boards and love to go out and surf but they said it is defiantly a rough sport , you get banged up pretty bad out there.... hummmm I may be rethinking my ambition towards being a pro surfer:-)
Right now Owen is so gung ho on becoming the next amazing surfer..haha we'll see if he still feels that way after he gets out there.. I am sure it is a lot harder than those cool dudes on the movies
make it look!

The water was pretty cold until you got used to it...
Owen looking for a good wave to catch..

I think here I am praying that the wave carries me closer to shore..I swear I stepped on something alive out there...uhggggg!
I think tonight I will research shark attacks in cocoa beach .. just to ease my mind a little bit ....I really do want to try surfing with out going into cardiac arrest out there....
