Memorial Day I woke up with an overwhelming desire to feel sand in my toes and to hear the water rush up on the shore line.. Since we live quit a distance away from the white sands of the ocean , I thought a trip to a Lake Erie beach would be satisfactory for a memorial day trip with the family. We called some friends and packed up an headed to Fairport Harbor. One important factor we forgot was that it drops about 7 degrees up on the lake, so it was about 65 and very windy . Not the ideal weather I had dreamed of as we cookout and build sand castles. So we opted to head to the river instead of shivering our fannies off in the cool breeze. Sunny and around 73 degrees .. the perfect day for a picnic. The kids enjoyed playing in the river , which was actually very warm, and built rock and dirt castles which would have to suffice at the moment. Our sand castle would have to be put on hold for a time.
Something about boys + rocks + target = competition... of course all in good fun...
Who would be the first to hit the far tree accurately with their rock?..ok, now with the biggest rock?
..*sigh* boys......
Ahh the ideal combination friends, family , fun, cookouts, water , sun.... maybe summer time is finally here........

Girls weekend 2009
Girls weekend is always a blast every year! There are six of us girls who have been going to a cabin in New York for several years. Everyone brings a craft or project to work on while were up there. Then we get in our Pj's and find the perfect spot in the living room and NEVER move.. Seriously we stay in the same Pj's and only move to eat and when nature calls.... It is awesome! This year we made little totes using only duct tape and staples, and we were able to experience painting some abstract art. Thanks to our friend crystal we also painted nails and used some nail pens to make some cool designs. Definitely two thumbs up for girls weekend!

A little photo editing
For a month now I have been taking a few online tutorials on Photo editing . The results can be very rewarding ( if you manage to do it right) . I love to look at the difference between the before and after photo. Since I need photos to learn photo editing , my kids, my sisters kids , my friends kids ,the cat , the dog , the neighbors, the neighbors family.. ok maybe I exaggerated a little but a lot of them have all become adjusted to me shoving a camera in their face and saying " cheeeese". I am just waiting for the moment my 6 year old says mom that is enough, or get that camera out of here.... like he is to cool to get his pictures taken by his loony mother .. But until that moment I will take every advantage of there beautiful faces ....
Here is a photo of my niece Peyton. I think here she may have been plotting her escape from her loony aunt with the camera...
I took out some of the color in the photo and added an antique/ grunge finish to it.. I think it gives the picture a cool worn look...
This photo is of Sage and Kaden in 2005. Since it was before I bought my new camera the quality is not the best..
Here I brighten up the photo and cropped out the unnecessary background..
